Design details

About This Barn

This barn is 58 feet wide, 50 feet long and 16 feet tall, with a Horizontal roof style. It is finished in White on the roof, None siding and None trim. We can build it at this exact size or change any part of it.

The step down barn with utility is a versatile metal building designed to combine livestock shelter with functional workspace or equipment storage. This innovative approach maximizes land usage by consolidating multiple farm functions under a single roof system.

Featuring a tiered roof design, this barn offers both open-air covered areas and enclosed utility sections, providing protection from weather while accommodating farming operations. The dual-zone layout creates distinct spaces for different agricultural activities.

Multi-Functional Agricultural Operations

The enclosed utility sections serve multiple purposes including equipment maintenance, feed preparation, and tool storage. These weatherproof areas protect valuable machinery and supplies from harsh elements year-round.

Open-air sections provide ideal livestock housing with natural ventilation and easy animal movement. The seamless integration between sheltered and utility areas streamlines daily farm operations and reduces travel time between tasks.

Farmers benefit from having workshop space adjacent to livestock areas, enabling immediate equipment repairs and maintenance without leaving the barn complex. This proximity increases operational efficiency significantly.

Customizable Step Down Barn w/ Utility Steel Construction

Customizable in size and layout, it allows for efficient workflow with options for stalls, storage rooms, and utility spaces—all built with durable steel framing and weather-resistant roofing. Interior configurations adapt to specific farming requirements and livestock types.

Ideal for agricultural use, the step-down barn with utility enhances farm productivity by integrating shelter and workspace in one durable structure. This consolidated approach reduces construction costs while maximizing functionality.

The robust steel construction ensures decades of reliable service with minimal maintenance requirements, making it a cost-effective long-term investment for modern farming operations.

Roof styles

Which Roof Style Is Right?

This build has a Horizontal roof style. Here is how the three styles compare.

  • This build

    Vertical roof

Panels run from the peak down to the eave, so rain, snow and debris slide off fastest. It carries the strongest wind rating and is our top pick for most of our service area.

  • This build

    A-frame (boxed eave) roof

A peaked roof with boxed eaves and horizontal panels for a clean, house-like look at a lower price than vertical.

  • This build

    Horizontal (regular) roof

Rounded eaves with horizontal panels. It costs the least and works well in milder weather. We do not warranty horizontal roofs on buildings longer than 36 feet.
