We are the manufacturer. East Texas Carports is a family-owned company founded in 2019. We build our frames and panels in Kilgore, Texas, sell direct to customers, and also supply a network of dealers.

Our own crews install every building. We do not use subcontractors. More than 20 traveling installers work for us and handle each job from delivery to final walkthrough.

We build carports, garages, barns, workshops and commercial buildings. Every building is custom-sized to fit your property.

Measure each vehicle's width with the mirrors extended and its height to the tallest point. On an RV, that is usually the air conditioning unit. Two vehicles parked side by side need much more than 16 feet of width once door clearance is included, and most RVs are about 11 to 13 feet tall, so leg height matters. Our carports range from a 10x24 RV carport to a 30x20 three-car carport, and larger custom sizes are available. See our carport size guide.

Residential buildings go up to 30 feet wide and 16 feet tall. Commercial buildings start at 30 feet wide and go up to 60 feet wide and 18 feet tall. Lean-tos can be up to 16 feet wide.

We offer three roof styles:

• Regular (A-frame): a classic peaked roof and our lowest-cost option.
• Boxed eave: a squared-off look with more headroom at the sides.
• Vertical: panels run from the peak down to the edge, so water sheds faster, and it is rated for heavier snow and high wind.

Compare roof styles.

We recommend a vertical roof. It sheds rain and debris faster, is stronger, and is rated for a 35 PSF snow load. Horizontal panels cost less but drain more slowly and work best in milder climates. Our warranty does not cover horizontal roofs on buildings longer than 36 feet.

We offer two barn styles. A standard barn has one roof at the same height across, giving lots of open space for the money. A step-down barn, also called a Carolina barn, has a raised center with lean-tos on the sides for better airflow and light. It costs a little more.

Yes. You can add roll-up doors, walk-in doors, windows, lean-tos on one or both sides, side drive-in openings and bubble reflective insulation for the roof, sides and ends. See all add-ons.

You can choose from 20 colors: 17 core colors for the roof, siding and trim, plus 3 roof-only colors.

• Core colors: White, Black, Zinc Gray, Barn Red, Forest Green, Light Stone, Pebble Beige, Hawaiian Blue, Pewter Gray, Brown, Mocha Tan, Taupe, Burgundy, Cardinal Red, Galvalume, Burnished Slate and Copper.
• Roof-only colors: Clear, Opal White and Royal Blue.

Yes. Mix and match any of the 17 core colors on your roof, siding and trim. Two-tone is free on horizontal panel buildings and costs extra on vertical panel buildings.

• Classic Farm: Barn Red roof, White siding, Black trim
• Modern Steel: Pewter Gray roof, Zinc Gray siding, Black trim
• Earth Tone: Light Stone roof, Pebble Beige siding, Brown trim
• Classic Ag: Galvalume roof, White siding, Pewter Gray trim

Lighter colors keep a building cooler because they reflect more sunlight. White, Light Stone and Galvalume are the coolest choices. Darker colors show less dust.

Doors come in 8 colors: White, Black, Barn Red, Forest Green, Light Stone, Pebble Beige, Pewter Gray and Brown.

Our Sherwin-Williams® coatings are built to resist fading, chalking and corrosion, and they are backed by a 20-year limited paint warranty.

Yes. Delivery and installation by our own crew are included on every carport, garage, barn and workshop in our service area. There are no separate crew or freight fees.

Typical lead time is 6 to 8 weeks once your order is placed and your deposit is paid. Large commercial buildings can take up to 12 weeks. Once your building is ready, delivery and installation usually take 1 to 5 days, and most installs are finished in a single day.

A 20% deposit and signed paperwork secure your order and lock your price, so it will not change even if steel prices go up. Our scheduling team will call you within 5 to 10 business days. Deposits are non-refundable, as stated in your signed order.

Cash, check, ACH transfer, debit card, money order, wire transfer or credit card. Credit card payments have a 3% fee.

Yes. You save 10% if you pick up your building and install it yourself. Buildings you install yourself are not covered by our warranty. See why DIY can cost more.

No. We supply and install the metal building. You will need a separate contractor for site prep, concrete and interior finish work.

Each 45-degree cut is $75 to cover the extra labor and tools. Side drive-in doors, roll-up doors and open cut-outs are priced by size, including labor and extra framing.

Yes. We offer rent-to-own (RTO) financing, so you do not need a bank loan. See our financing page.

No. You can choose one of two partners:

• RTO National (since 2003): finances up to $30,000 with a credit check and needs a 650+ credit score for a standard rate.
• Heartland Capital (since 2007): finances up to $15,000 with no credit check, at a higher rate.

Rent-to-own starts with a 20% down payment, and terms run from 12 to 60 months.

About half of each payment goes toward the price of your building and the other half is rent. Once it is paid off, you own it. There is no penalty for paying it off early. Compare rent-to-own and loans.

Design your building online, apply with one of our financing partners, get approved and pick your term, then make your payments until you own it. Our team can also walk you through each step by phone or in person.

Every building includes a 1-year maintenance warranty, a 20-year Sherwin-Williams paint warranty, and a no-rust frame warranty based on the steel you choose:

• 14-gauge frame: 5 years. Year 1 covers full replacement and install, and years 2 to 5 cover free parts.
• 12-gauge frame: 20 years. Years 1 and 2 cover full replacement and install, and years 3 to 20 cover free parts.

The 20-year paint warranty covers rust on painted panels, color fading and finish wear on our Sherwin-Williams® coated steel.

• 14-gauge: up to 120 MPH
• 12-gauge: up to 140 MPH

Wind ratings require certified anchors and bracing from East Texas Carports. Our standard rebar anchors carry no wind warranty, and our upgraded anchor package adds a 20-year wind warranty.

Our vertical roofs are rated for a 35 PSF snow load, which is why we recommend them anywhere snow and ice are a concern.

Doors have 90 days of coverage for defects, hardware, locks and seals, and latches and handles are covered for 1 year, including rust from normal use. After 90 days, door adjustments are $50. Walk-in doors open outward, and roll-up doors are built with about a 3-inch gap at the bottom.

Yes. You get 1 year of coverage for roof leaks at screws, material defects and install issues.

The warranty does not cover damage from chemicals, salt, physical wear or extreme weather. Coverage is voided by any change made after install unless we approve it in writing, including electrical, plumbing, aftermarket parts, interior finishes and structural changes. The wind warranty is also voided by anchors you supply, rocky or unlevel ground, and wood or deck platforms we did not provide. Buildings you install yourself are not covered.

Yes. Every building is made at our own plant in Kilgore, Texas, with Sherwin-Williams® coated steel. They are not imported kits.

Our standard build uses 14-gauge galvanized tubing and 29-gauge metal panels. You can upgrade to 12-gauge tubing and 26-gauge panels. All panels are Sherwin-Williams® coated steel, roll-formed in-house.

12-gauge steel is thicker and stronger than 14-gauge. It carries a 140 MPH wind rating and a 20-year no-rust frame warranty, compared with 120 MPH and 5 years for 14-gauge. We recommend 12-gauge for large spans, high-wind areas and buildings you want to last. Read our gauge guide.

A well-built, properly anchored steel carport can last for decades. Galvanized framing, Sherwin-Williams coated panels, a vertical roof and simple upkeep all add years. Our frames carry up to a 20-year no-rust warranty. See how long metal carports last.

Yes. Our buildings are engineered to meet or exceed local building codes, including wind and snow load rules where they apply, and our panels meet Metal Building Manufacturers Association standards. We provide engineered drawings for your permit.

Paint-match screws blend in with your panel color and cost a little more. Regular galvanized or stainless screws cost less, but you can see them.

Most cities and counties require a permit for a carport or metal building, and many HOAs have their own rules. Check with your local building office before install day. We provide the engineered drawings most offices ask for, and our team can answer permit questions when you press 2. Read our permit guide.

We install on dirt, gravel, asphalt or concrete, and we match the anchors to your surface. The ground must be level. Rocky or unlevel ground voids the wind warranty.

It depends on your ground:

• Dirt or gravel: 30-inch mobile home anchors every 10 feet
• Asphalt: 30-inch asphalt anchors every 10 feet
• Concrete: 6-inch anchors (1/4 inch wide) every 5 feet
• Rebar: 3-foot straight rods in dirt or gravel, a short-term option with no wind warranty

No. You will need a local concrete contractor to pour your slab before our crew arrives. Make the slab about 1 foot shorter than the roof length and 3 inches wider than the building on every side. Minor concrete damage during install is normal and is not covered by warranty.

Have a level, clear spot ready with room for our trailer to reach it. Pour your slab ahead of time if you are using concrete, and get any permit your city requires. Power on site is not required because our crews bring their own generators. See our site prep guide.

Most installs take a few hours to one day. Larger buildings can take longer, because we put quality first.

Our crew drives a special trailer to your site carrying the panels, frame, anchors, hardware and tools, then builds your building on the spot.

We usually install Monday through Friday. Weekend installs are possible in special cases.

Install dates are estimates. Weather, traffic, equipment or site issues can cause delays, and our scheduling team will keep you updated.
