Design details

About This Barn

This barn is 36 feet wide, 25 feet long and 9 feet tall, with a Vertical roof style. It is finished in Galvalume on the roof, Galvalume siding and White trim. We can build it at this exact size or change any part of it.

The step down barn is a durable metal building featuring a unique tiered roof design that creates separate covered and open-air areas within a single structure. This innovative architectural approach maximizes functionality while maintaining structural integrity.

The distinctive stepped roofline allows for strategic placement of different operational zones. Farmers can designate specific areas for equipment storage, livestock housing, and feed preparation all under one comprehensive structure.

Agricultural Versatility and Performance

Ideal for agricultural use, this barn provides versatile shelter for livestock while allowing easy access and ventilation. The open-air sections promote natural airflow, reducing moisture buildup and creating healthier environments for animals.

The step-down design accommodates various livestock types and sizes. Cattle, horses, sheep, and poultry can all benefit from the flexible space configurations this building style offers.

Weather protection remains paramount, with the covered sections shielding valuable equipment and animals from rain, snow, and harsh sunlight. The strategic openings ensure adequate ventilation without compromising protection.

Customizable Step Down Barn Steel Construction

Its customizable layout and sturdy steel construction make it suitable for farms seeking a functional, weather-resistant solution that combines protection and airflow. High-grade steel framing ensures longevity and minimal maintenance requirements.

The step down barn design enhances operational efficiency by offering flexible space tailored to various farming needs. Customization options include door placement, window configurations, and interior partitioning systems.

This building solution adapts to changing farm operations, allowing for future modifications and expansions as agricultural needs evolve over time.

Roof styles

Which Roof Style Is Right?

This build has a Vertical roof style. Here is how the three styles compare.

  • This build

    Vertical roof

Panels run from the peak down to the eave, so rain, snow and debris slide off fastest. It carries the strongest wind rating and is our top pick for most of our service area.

  • This build

    A-frame (boxed eave) roof

A peaked roof with boxed eaves and horizontal panels for a clean, house-like look at a lower price than vertical.

  • This build

    Horizontal (regular) roof

Rounded eaves with horizontal panels. It costs the least and works well in milder weather. We do not warranty horizontal roofs on buildings longer than 36 feet.
