East Texas Carports Expands in Kilgore

Family-owned metal building manufacturer adds a 10,000-square-foot storage building and will open a 3,500-square-foot office at its Kilgore plant in early 2027.

KILGORE, Texas – Nov. 6, 2026 – East Texas Carports, a family-owned manufacturer of custom metal carports, garages, barns and steel buildings, has expanded into a second facility and will open a new scheduling and permitting office at its Kilgore manufacturing plant in early 2027.

The company has added a 10,000-square-foot storage building at its existing Kilgore facilities, giving the plant more room for steel, finished components and building materials as demand grows.

New Scheduling and Permitting Office

The new 3,500-square-foot office will sit on the plant grounds at 970 Post Oak Rd. in Kilgore. It will house scheduling and permitting for every building the company installs across its six-state region: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kansas and Mississippi.

The scheduling and permitting team will move into the new office from the company’s Longview sales office, putting the people who plan each installation next to the plant that builds it.

“Every building we sell is made right here in Kilgore, and moving scheduling and permitting next to the plant keeps planning, production and our install crews working as one team. Our customers in six states should see that in smoother scheduling and clearer communication from order to install,” said Oscar Rubio-Chavez, sales manager at East Texas Carports.

Built in Kilgore Since 2019

Founded in East Texas in 2019, East Texas Carports builds every frame and panel at its Kilgore plant, which opened in 2025 (read about the plant opening), and installs buildings with its own crews, not subcontractors. The company has installed more than 10,000 buildings since it opened. Customers can design their building in the company’s free 3D design tool. The Longview sales office remains at 1000 ½ W. Cotton St.
